Kirsten and Elliot’s Lake Tahoe elopement, was an absolute dream.
Like many this year, their original wedding plans were sidelined by Covid. They knew they didn’t want to wait for an unforeseeable date and instead decided on eloping in Lake Tahoe. If you’ve never been to Tahoe, it is massive and surrounded by mountains, truly unreal and a picturesque backdrop.
They started out at their airbnb in Squaw Valley with very immediate family to start the day. They had a first dance and a cake cutting and it was immensely special and memories they’ll be able to always remember. Eloping is truly what you make it, with freedom to include traditions important to you.
Kirsten, Elliot, her brother that was officiating, and myself headed up to North Lake Tahoe for the ceremony; the views of the valleys and mountains adding to the heightened buzzing emotions.
At a spot they had scouted in North Lake Tahoe for their elopement, they laid down a small jute rug and came together.
Exchanging vows that had a lot of sweet references, that were intrinsic to their lives together, it couldn’t have been more personal or touching. They laughed, Kirstin cried, I cried, Elliot looked at her with so much love I felt like I would fog up my viewfinder with tears. They were beautiful intimate moments that made 2020 a heck of a lot better. Lake Tahoe was the perfect place for them.
After the ceremony we all cheered and they drank champagne. Then we headed to the overlook for more pictures. At the top you get incredible views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. We watched an incredible sunset to cap off their perfect day.
